For a brief moment, Melania Trump was celebrating, and Donald Trump, through sheer determination and willpower, has ruined this joy.
In the past few weeks, Donald Trump has captivated the media during his court appearances in New York. The former president is being criminally prosecuted in New York over the Stormy Daniels hush money scandal.
Trump is accused of having an affair with former porn star Stormy Daniels and paying her the sum of “hush money” to buy her silence during the 2016 campaign for the U.S. presidency.
Michael Cohen, a former lawyer and fixer for Donald Trump, arranged a payment of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels.
During the month’s trial, Trump made headlines for clashes with lawyers, New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, and reporters.
The billionaire mainly caused chaos by lashing over the fact that he would miss Barron Trump‘s high school graduation set for May 17.
Trump said: “(Barron‘s) a great student, and he’s very proud of the fact he did so well and was looking forward to having his graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam. It’s a scam trial.”
Cohen said he is baffled by Trump’s outrage over Barron’s high school graduation for several reasons.
The former Trump lawyer said he “wasn’t aware that [Trump] went to any of the kids’ graduations,” adding that the politician had “taken little interest in Barron’s schooling.”
Cohen, who served time for his dealing with Trump and the Trump organization, added: “I find it not just comical … I find it insulting that [missing Barron’s graduation is] the big issue. I missed my 25th anniversary and my wife’s 50th birthday because I was in Otisville [federal prison], in part because of things that I had done at the direction of and for the benefit of Donald Trump.”
Cohen said that Melania Trump is happy that her husband will not attend the milestone event. He claimed: “I’m sure Melania is extremely excited he won’t be there. Rest assured, I’m not losing any sleep, nor will I shed a tear that Trump can’t attend Barron’s graduation.”
Trump’s relentless arguing had pushed the judge to permit him to attend his son’s high school graduation in Florida.
Mr. Trump, who is currently leading in polls against President Joe Biden, is hoping that winning the election will put an end to his mounting legal problems.
