Bon appétit is what Jaime Christine Major was thinking when she allegedly retrieved french fries from the garbage to serve customers at a Burger King in Union, South Carolina.

According to a police report, the incident between Major and the two female customers — Shantel Elizabeth Harris and Ivory Lakeisha Muhammad — occurred on July 9.

The police were called to the scene after Shantel Elizabeth Harris and Ivory Lakeisha Muhammad got into a screaming match with Jaime Christine Major.

According to the Union Police Department, Sgt. Bryan Shaver responded to the call. Muhammad and Harris told the police that they saw Major collect French fries from the trash can and pour them into a container of freshly cooked fries.

According to Shantel Elizabeth Harris and Ivory Lakeisha Muhammad, Jaime Christine Major attempted to serve them the trash with just-cooked fries on top, and drama ensued.

When the cop arrived at the eatery, the unhappy friends were yelling at the staff at the thought of being fed germ-ridden food.

Sgt. Bryan Shaver revealed in his written statement that he could hear the loud and heated argument from the parking lot of the hamburger fast food restaurant.

Shaver stated that the ladies hurled a long list of profanities at the staff. He attempted multiple times to calm them down, but in vain.

The police officer grew weary of the agitated friends and arrested them. Oddly enough, Jaime Christine Major was not arrested with the customers.

The police report described Harris and Muhammad as “two black females using body language pointing at employees that indicated they were angry about something.”

Shaver went on to say in his report that he tried to “calm them down, but they continued “being loud and boisterous and using profanity towards employees.”

Harris and Muhammad were handcuffed and arrested for disorderly conduct. Sgt. Bryan Shaver further revealed that Harris made verbal threats to the staff members while she was being escorted to the police vehicle.

Harris promised to return to the Burger King restaurant to punish the employees as soon as she was released from jail. After getting their mug shots taken, Muhammad and Harris were booked at Union County Jail.

Two days after the customers’ arrest, the story had a dramatic development. Burger King headquarters called the police to confirm the reports that Major had been serving fries from the trash can.

An investigation was opened into the matter and on July 17. Major was arrested and faced charges. Major was held on a $20,000 bond at the Union County Detention Center but has since been released.

If convicted, Major could spend up to 20 years behind bars. Burger King has fired Major. Harris and Muhammad have been named the victims of this story.

The company issued the following statement on the matter: “These allegations do not align with the brand’s commitment to quality food and service and creating an exceptional Guest experience. The Franchisee of this restaurant is cooperating with local authorities and will take appropriate action based on the findings. As this remains an ongoing investigation, we are unable to share additional details at this time.”

Some experts say that while those situations are rare, they still do happen.
