It appears that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s goal to settle in America might be harder to achieve than previously expected.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had many ideas for their new life away from the British Royal family, but the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic crisis crushed all of their plans.
Reportedly, the former senior royals were waiting for the pandemic to end in the luxurious residence of Tyler Perry in L.A.
Still, recent news stated that the couple wanted to have a home of their own, where they could live with their infant baby boy, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.
Also, it was reported that Meghan wanted to resume her acting career, especially after she was included as a narrator in one of Disney’s latest documentary films, Elephant, and rumor had it that she was about to star in another production right before the coronavirus struck.
Even though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped down from their royal duties, they are still not shying away from public life, as Prince Harry held a speech at a JP Morgan summit earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Russell Myers recently claimed that it might be hard for the couple to settle in Los Angeles, as the Daily Mirror editor stated that “all their plans are simply up in the air at the moment.”
According to Myers, the Sussexes initially planned to “launch themselves into the corporate world,” because they were reportedly expecting to earn a substantial amount of money as public speakers.
Myers explained, their plans are “up in the air” at the moment. The royal expert went on to reveal: “All their plans are simply up in the air at the moment. They had huge plans once they settled in Los Angeles… to set up their foundation and now obviously these plans are in tatters.”
He concluded by saying: “They had plans to launch themselves into the corporate world, into the very, very lucrative world of public speaking, where they could potentially net millions and millions of pounds for a single gig.”
Rumors have it that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are hoping to give speeches supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and to fight against racism as a way to rebrand themselves in this new era.
The power couple has signed with Harry Walker Agency for speaking engagements. The agency also represents Michelle and Barack Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton, and Stacey Abrams, the failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate and progressive darling, who is reportedly on former Vice President Joe Biden‘s shortlist for VP.
