One woman had a rather unique gift for the man who would soon become her husband: she offered him the opportunity to sleep with one of her bridesmaids, and he happily accepted the invitation.
Appearing on the television show Truly’s Love Don’t Judge, the couple Katey, 26, and her, fiancé, Dan, 25, opened up about the very special way they celebrated their last night as single people.
The duo got married in September in an intimate ceremony in Torquay, Devon. They were surrounded by close friends, but their family members opted to skip the ceremony because of their unconventional lifestyle.
The husband and wife have an open relationship, they enjoy what they call “wife swapping,” and Katey is exploring her bisexuality.
Appearing in the series, the duo claimed that they had a threesome just before saying their “I dos” with the bride’s best friend.
Katey explained why she asked the friend to join them in the bedroom on the night of their wedding: “We ended up taking one of my girlfriends up to our bedroom. We had some drinks and ended up having a threesome with her, and it was really fun. She’s one of my best friends, so it was very comfortable.”
Dan added: “To do it on such a special day just makes it so memorable.”
Katey went on to reveal that her lifestyle has created a wedge between her and her relatives.
When her family discovered the truth about what goes on between her sheets, they stopped talking to her.
She added: “I think a lot of the judgment I received has been from my family. They disapproved of what I was doing, and they don’t really speak to me anymore because of it.”
Katey’s family believes that her actions are “disgusting” and blames Dan for pushing her to take the path to exploring her sexuality.
She shared that her close relatives refused to attend the wedding. In the episode, the pair revealed all their steamy secrets — they also exchanged wives.
Dan and Katey spoke about their relationship with Kirsty and Tom. The foursome met on Open House: The Great Sex Experiment earlier this year, and since then they have regularly swapped partners in the bedroom.
Dan confessed: “The jealousy is kind of part of it, it makes things more exciting.”
Tom said: “It’s just a normal friendship, like any other friendship – even though we share wives and stuff. If you enjoy a bar of chocolate, are you just going to have one bar of chocolate your whole life and that is it?”
The relatives are not any closer to understanding their life choices.
