It is a known fact that Donald Trump loves to talk about himself. The author and businessman enjoys lengthy monologues about his poll numbers, the court cases, his accomplishments, and his adversaries that are causing him headaches.
However, sometimes, the former president makes an effort and puts his family first. In a recent sit-down with Moms for America, Trump was asked to give an update on his youngest son, Barron Trump.
The real estate mogul shares Barron Trump with his third and current wife, Melania Trump. Trump started by praising Melania Trump for being an excellent mother to their teen son.
He spoke about Barron’s impressive height and confirmed that he is a stellar student. He stated: “Melania, she’s great; she’s, uh, doing a tremendous job with my son, who’s a fantastic guy. He’s a good, tall guy, too—very tall. I’d say 6.8. But he’s a great young man, and he’s a very good student, and, uh, I think he’s doing a good job. I think he’s doing a very good job. He’s 17.”
When Trump was asked about the advice he has given to his children and grandchildren, he surprised the host with one remark.
The politician is anti-drug and anti-alcohol and has made that clear to his children — but he had a change of heart when it comes to tattoos.
The host reminded Donald Trump that he appeared on CNN with Barron Trump when he was younger and said, “Listen, no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes, and no tattoos.”
She asked if these rules still apply to his family, and Mr. Trump revealed that his point of view on body art has evolved.
It will be up to Barron to decide, but if his personal preference is to get ink that means something important or as a youthful act of rebellion against the norm, his father will not be against it.
Trump explained: “Well, I do, and, uh, the tattoos I think are in a little different category. You know, you have people’s personal preferences; that’s their preference, but no drugs and no cigarettes.”
Trump went on to explain that no matter how old his children might be, he would still give them “the talk” about drugs and alcohol.
He shared: “And uh, it’s just in the old days ago, I had a brother who was a fantastic guy; he always looked at me and said,” No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes. But the drugs were much later because if you look at drugs today, it’s like today’s drugs are less than alcohol and cigarettes. I always add that it’s not a positive thing, and if they can avoid it that would be a great thing, but uh, I would tell my kids before they see them every day to say, “No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes.”
Former President Donald Trump has five children: Don Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron. He is a grandfather of 10.
