It was always believed that Prince William had some wonderful long-term plans for himself and his family.
The heir to the throne believed that he would continue to learn about the job of being a Monarch through King Charles III‘s guidance and Prince Harry‘s support.
He believed that he would eventually sit on the throne in the next 20 or more years. Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, were planning to focus on raising their three young children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
The power couple is determined to give their children the most normal and loving childhood that the monarchy has seen.
The duo wanted to enjoy their quiet lives at Adelaide Cottage, watch their favorite shows, play ball with their children, and take long walks with their dogs.
However, all of that has dramatically changed with the double news that King Charles and Kate Middleton are battling cancer.
A royal insider noted via Page Six that Prince William is feeling an immense amount of pressure because he has suddenly realized that he will be King when his father is no longer there, and he dreads it.
The publication shared: “His life has changed irrevocably; the possibility of becoming king far sooner than he ever imagined now looms over him. He is a heartbeat away from the throne, and he has his beastly brother and all of this publicity floating around.”
Royal biographer Tina Brown has written a lengthy piece in The New York Times. She painted a clear image of the tidal waves of stress, pressure, and anxiety that Prince William and especially cancer-stricken Kate Middleton have been swimming and sometimes drowning under in the past few weeks.
She explained that Prince William and Middleton are terrified and nervous about the idea that they will indeed be King and Queen of England maybe sooner than they had ever hoped for.
The veteran commentator stated: “The almost simultaneous news of Charles’s cancer has put William and Catherine in frightening proximity to ascending the throne, just when they had hoped for a span of years to parent their children out of the public eye. The prospect of it, I am told, is causing them intense anxiety. Help from other family members is scant.”
Brown went on to share that Prince William and Princess Kate feel that they have a support system because of King Charles’s slimmed-down concept and the earth-shattering decisions taken by Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew‘s sinful ways.
Prince William is saddened, even remorseful, that his ailing wife must deal with insurmountable pressure.
She added: “The slimmed-down monarchy that Charles always promoted is suddenly looking very lean indeed. The combination of the Harry and Meghan clown show in Montecito, Calif.; the fusillades from Harry’s memoir, “Spare”; and the disgrace of Prince Andrew — who has little social contact with anyone except his horse — have put William and Catherine under unmanageable pressure.”
The author concluded by revealing that Kate Middleton has been put in a torturous situation where her dreaded cancer battle is only a fragment of pain.
She has also been hit with the reality that she will have to step up as queen and handle a mountain of responsibility and stress.
She stated: “Catherine is battling more — much more — than cancer. A tidal wave of premature responsibility is crashing in her and William’s direction. Frozen, unready, and with Catherine now seriously unwell, the Prince and Princess of Wales await the awesome burden of the crown.”
Prince William has to deal with the situation while keeping an eye on The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
