The life-changing health issues have forced Middleton to hit pause on what she has been doing for more than two decades — being a public servant.
However, some critics and naysayers believed Princess Kate should remain holed up at Adelaide Cottage and never see daylight.
Recently, multiple media outlets confirmed that Middleton had been seen out and about — sometimes by herself, other times with Prince William, or with members of the Middleton family.
Like a normal human being, a royal insider told PEOPLE Magazine that Middleton sometimes steps out to visit a market or her favorite stores.
The person in the know shared: “Kate Middleton is stepping out amid her cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales has remained out of the public eye since publicly announcing her cancer diagnosis in March as she undergoes chemotherapy. However, Kate has recently been spotted with her family and solo running errands.”
Royal sources told Us Weekly that cancer or not, Middleton is very present for her children, and she makes sure they get fresh air and take part in activities.
The insider stated: “Princess Kate Middleton may not return to work anytime soon — but she has been spending time with her little ones. Recently, the recuperating royal has been spotted publicly with her children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — with husband Prince William.”
Other parents have told The Daily Beast at her children’s private school that she “done occasional school runs while keeping a low profile.”
A parent told the media outlet: “There have been rumors she has done drop-off, but I haven’t seen her since the video. We all feel very protective of her. Ask anyone at the school—they are amazing parents.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton have faced criticism for their decision to make public appearances and outings during Princess Kate’s health battle.
Some find the moves suspicious because if Middleton can visit a store or take her children to the park, why can’t she participate in a few engagements?
Insiders say Middleton is taking it one day at a time. While she feels comfortable being with her immediate family, she is not ready to face the masses and the hungry media that will tear her physical appearance to shreds.
