At 75, King Charles III, the oldest person to inherit the British throne, is ill. His Majesty is battling an unknown form of cancer.
He might be King, but he is not immortal. In a display of foresight and concern, King Charles actively considers his legacy and takes steps to safeguard his wife, Queen Camilla, in the event of his passing.
According to royal expert and Daily Mail writer Richard Enden, King Charles wants his spouse to maintain the lifestyle and luxury she is accustomed to even if he cannot provide it.
King Charles wants to avoid burdening the heir to the throne, Prince William, with the mission of financially providing for his stepmother.
While Prince William and Queen Camilla maintain a respectful relationship, they are not particularly close.
King Charles is making arrangements to secure a future home for Queen Camilla and her family, which directly implies evicting his brother, Prince Andrew, from the Royal Lodge.
The author shared: “What, then, is the real reason behind the King’s determination to evict Andrew and Fergie, who – like Charles and the Princess of Wales – has been through a recent cancer battle? More than one friend of the Yorks has suggested the same intriguing answer to me: could it be that the King sees Royal Lodge as a potential future home for Queen Camilla?”
King Charles had been in a public dispute with his brother, Prince Andrew, for over a year due to his decision to reclaim the Royal Lodge for Queen Camilla and her family.
The King has proposed that Prince Andrew relocate to Frogmore Cottage, a property previously owned by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Eden went on to reveal: “Like anyone who has been seriously ill, the King is said to have been thinking about every possible contingency. Who wouldn’t? He will know that was his wife to outlive him; she would be left with a somewhat uncertain status. As dowager Queen, Camilla would be stepmother – not mother – to King William. And William will inherit everything, just as Charles did from his mother, including Clarence House, where Charles and Camilla live when they are in London. ”
Rumors were swirling, claiming that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, were eyeing the Royal Lodge, but a friend denied that story.
He explained: “As Prince of Wales, William already owns the King’s beloved Gloucestershire home, Highgrove. So, Charles will be determined to make sure that Camilla is kept in the manner to which she has become accustomed. Might that include guaranteeing her a ‘country’ bolthole in Windsor Great Park?”
King Charles is doing his best to cover every issue.
