Melania Trump is a very busy woman. She is the current First Lady of the United States and, therefore, has a long laundry list of duties that come with the title. According to her husband, Donald Trump, she is doing a marvelous job.
However, in addition to her role as the First Lady, Melania Trump is a reality star who has secured a multimillion-dollar deal for a documentary set to air on Amazon streams.
The staggering amount of just under 30 million dollars she was paid for the documentary has caused heated debate over the funding base, with even political expert James Carville expressing his bewilderment at the former Glamour model’s significant earnings.
Carville said via POLITICO: “You can produce a world-class documentary for $2 million. I know it. You couldn’t spend $40 million on a documentary if you tried 10 times harder to do it, so where’s the money going? Well, we know where the money is going. And to [Jeff] Bezos, whose worth, I don’t know, $400 billion, this is all chump change.”
He added: “It’s breathtaking. And I don’t know, somebody better look into this, but they could make a documentary on the universe’s history and couldn’t spend $40 million.”
Netflix and Apple declined and refused to bid on the project. Paramount made a lowball offer of $4 million, while Disney offered $14 million.
So, the question on everyone’s mind is: how did Melania get almost 30 million dollars from Jeff Bezos? It is believed that Bezos caved to Ms. Trump because he wanted to be in good standing with President Trump.
This deal not only raises questions about the value of the documentary but also about the influence of the Trump administration on major business decisions.
Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and many more have kneeled, kissed the ring, and become buddies with President Trump.
Sources told The Daily Mail that Melania Trump orchestrated her own charm offensive, a strategic and persuasive campaign, and secured the deal without her husband’s direct involvement.
During a meeting at Mar-a-Lago, Melania Trump, the normally reclusive and mysterious woman, was surprisingly talkative and managed to convince the Amazon founder and billionaire businessman that she and her life story were worth 30 million dollars.
Her persuasive skills left many intrigued. Sources told the Daily Mail that Melania spent the Christmas holiday filming the documentary.
The Daily Mail reported: “When Jeff Bezos was at the Trumps’ Palm Beach residence, Mar-a-Lago, in December to celebrate the election victory, Melania took advantage of the opportunity to pitch her documentary idea. It must have been one hell of a pitch. Amazon agreed to pay $40 million to license the film, and Melania’s cut is an estimated 70 percent, meaning she’s set to benefit from at least $28 million.”
According to NYMAG, the Secret Service agents were said to be uneasy while Melania Trump turned the White House into a movie set.
The publication shared: “A source with knowledge of the situation told me that Ratner shot for more than 30 days and had such unfettered access to the White House that Secret Service agents were said to be uneasy.”
The Wall Street Journal reports Melania Trump is looking for ways to make even more money with the project: “According to people familiar with the matter, the First Lady’s cut is more than 70% of the $40 million. And they’re still looking for more: Melania’s agent has been trying to sell “sponsorships” for the film — starting at $10 million—to prominent CEOs and billionaires who were at the inauguration.”
Many are eagerly anticipating the documentary, hoping it will answer a simple yet compelling question: Was the content worth the price?
