New reports have come out regarding the Dayton, Ohio shooting, in which the attacker, Connor Betts, killed his sister, Megan Betts, among many others.

The tragic story was repeated multiple times in the media recently, and now it has come to light that the 22-year-old woman was a transgender man.

Interestingly enough, his family had no idea about the situation, according to reports. The family’s official statement claimed that they had lost a daughter.

However, at the same time, the woman was previously going under the name Jordan Cofer and identified as male.

Not many were aware of what was going on, except for a few of his closest friends whom he had confided in.

Some of them have decided to shed a little light on the situation and have come forward with revelations about their life around Jordan.

One explained that Jordan used to be their closest friend and that he insisted on being referred to as “he” in private conversations with his friends.

Splinter News spoke to some of his friends anonymously. One of them revealed: “Jordan was my closest friend. He identified with he/him pronouns to people he trusted and knew would support him. Jordan was probably one of the sweetest people you would ever meet, a true saint, but he was also very scared constantly. He tried to give the best to everyone.”

Another pal reached out to the New York Post and shared: “I did know that he was indeed a trans man.”

However, that was only limited to the people closest to him, and he did not reveal it to anyone else.

Another friend of Jordan’s has also confirmed that they were aware of the man’s identity. It is not known if he was planning to come out soon or not.

Some have speculated that his death might have been related to the shooter finding out the truth, but this remains the subject of speculation right now.

A pal said this about the matter: “Jordan told me in the past that he was not out to his family, but that could have changed in the past month as we barely spoke of the topic recently. I do not believe that his gender identity had played a part in his death because of the fact that he wasn’t out to many people.”

Many have pointed out that people should respect the memory of those whose lives were taken in the shooting.

The LGBTQ community is pushing for the media to recognize Jordan as his authentic self.

One person fighting for this visibility stated: “We are talking about it. I live in Dayton. According to his close friends, not many knew. We are spreading the word here because it is important that he is known for who he is and who he was. ?”

A second activist added: “So much hate. Gotta unite and beat the hate. But I also have to say f#ck those people.”

Funeral arrangements for Jordan have not been made public as yet.
