A recent survey that was released online showed that Queen Elizabeth II is beloved by British people more than ever. The numbers also revealed that Prince Harry should have learned a few lessons from his grandmother, who has been on the throne for 68 years.
The survey revealed the Queen of Great Britain, who holds the title of the longest-reigning monarch in British history, is the most beloved royal family member, with 81% of people seeing her as an asset.
Following the Queen is the future king of England, Prince William, who has 79% favorability. The next most popular royal on the list is Kate Middleton, with 76%.
As for Prince Charles, as an asset, with 54% viewing him favorably. In the 2020 poll, Duke of Sussex’s numbers took a serious dip.
Only 35% of the voters view Harry positively compared to 75% when the same question was asked to Britons in 2012. It will not surprise many to discover that the least popular royal family member is none other than Prince Andrew.
The controversial prince has been accused by Virginia Giuffre, previously known as Virginia Roberts, of being forced to have sex with him at the age of 17 under the orders of late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The polls showed that 80% of British citizens see him as a liability to the monarchy, and only 4% believing he has something to offer. As for Meghan Markle, after leaving London, she is only seen as a liability by 51%, and an asset by 24%.
Earlier this year, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced to the world that they no longer wanted to be senior members of Britain’s royal family. The duo moved to Canada and later settled down in California.
The Queen said in a statement that they are “entirely supportive” of the couple’s choice. Her statement read in part: “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the royal family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as family while remaining a valued part of my family.”
Since exiting the royal family, the power couple has been making millions via paid speeches and Zoom appearances. Harry and Meghan are expected to become big brands with global reach in the upcoming years if and when things get back to “normal” after the COVID-19 pandemic that has rocked the planet in the past year.
