Donald Trump believes that certain things are important, and he therefore uses every opportunity to spar and get his point across.
The former president strongly thinks the size of his crowds matters; he has been fighting that battle since his inauguration in 2017 when he stated that his number of supporters was far greater than Barack Obama‘s.
The media and DC officials disputed the claims made by Trump, yet he spent months on the issue. Trump’s obsession with large masses pushed him to proudly say in 2022 that “the biggest crowd” he delivered a speech to was on January 6 in Washington, D.C.
After Trump’s unforgettable remarks, a mob of his backers stormed the Capitol in a deliberate effort to undermine democracy and overturn the election.
This week, Trump took to Truth Social and brutally revived the drama. He claimed he is still the Republican man who attracts the largest attendance at his political events.
It appears that Donald Trump was lashing out at several reports that claim, just as he allegedly did for his net worth to secure the loans, he grossly inflated the numbers.
Several media outlets agreed that Trump attracts massive crowds of supporters, but sometimes he is unable to fill the arenas and stadiums where he holds his rallies.
Trump wrote: “Many times when I’m making a Speech, which is always sold out with lots of people not being able to get into the Arena or Venue, the Fake News will watch people come down from the rafters (bad seats) onto the floor—nearer the stage. As soon as this happens, the Lamestream Media starts taking pictures of these once fully occupied areas and seats, and then come out with a story—’Trump Arena wasn’t full’ or, ‘Trump didn’t have a Sellout’—When they know that is not true. They say it without fail!”
Trump went on to claim he is still a magnet that attracts so many people that some have to be turned away because his venues are always full to capacity.
He did some humble bragging by writing: “The fact is, thousands of people get sent away, and we never have empty seats, because we’re selling a product people want—AMERICAN GREATNESS! This is a Movement like none other, and the Failing Media should get on board now. Our Country needs it, and they need it because their lack of credibility is causing many News Organizations to fail. They’re going out of business because they don’t tell the truth. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
Trump recently held a rally in Hialeah, Florida, where he claimed that he was “standing in front of tens of thousands” of supporters, but the AP debunked that claim by explaining that the venue can only hold 5,200 people.
NBC News reporters confirmed that a political event that was held in Erie, Pennsylvania, for Mr. Trump had many “large sections of empty seats.”
The former president does not play when it comes to the size of his crowds.
