People are forced to hide their dogs if they do not want them taken away by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
A new disturbing report has come out claiming that Kim has given the weird order to his officials to confiscate all four-legged pets in Pyongyang.
The dictator said he no longer wants dogs in the country’s capital because they represent what Kim calls Western decadence.
In July, the decision was taken to round up all dogs and either send to them to state-run zoos or killed for the following reason: “It is a tainted trend by bourgeois ideology. Ordinary people raise pigs and livestock on their porches, but high-ranking officials and the wealthy own pet dogs, which stoked some resentment.”
According to the directive: “Authorities have identified households with pet dogs and are forcing them to give them up or forcefully confiscating them and putting them down.”
However, pet owners are not buying the explanation — they believe that their beloved animal friends have been sold to restaurants for the country is suffering from a shortage of food supplies run.
According to local media, dog owners are adamant that Kim has decided to resolve North Korea’s food shortage by giving meat to the population.
The dog owners are angry and are “cursing Kim Jong Un behind his back,” but they feel powerless as their pets are tuned into restaurant meat. Many people reacted to the sordid story in a very negative manner.
An animal lover said this: “Hmmm, I question anything about N. Korea these days. Also, as a 100% vegetarian/90% vegan, I’d like people to be just as appalled by our capitalist and cruel consumption of pigs, cows, and chickens in this country — plus any other sentient being that once had a face, a family, and ability to have emotions and thoughts. ?”
A call of action was put out by this pet owner: “Ok, this is the time when we organize a revolution for the North Koreans. With enough knowledge, they can do anything. I say we fly posters of the west all over North Korea. They think the west is worse than North Korea. If we show them that everywhere else is free, they can start their own revolution, without fear.”
This devasted American shared: “Please tell me this is a lie. The nation is starving, and yet he has multiple chins, now that’s leadership.”
A social media user revealed that has been going on for years: “They’ve been doing that in China also! Killing dogs for their meat, which is sickening! Because there are some good people who love their animals! ??”
It is not clear if the pressure will change the order put out by the controversial leader.
