Kristin Cavallari has spoken about how she feels a year after her split from ex-husband Jay Cutler, saying it is the first time she has been “able to come up for air and is at peace.”
She also posted several jaw-dropping bikini photos saying this is what freedom looks like.
The 34-year-old TV personality had been with professional football player Jay Cutler, 37, for almost ten years when they split last April.
And now Kristin has spoken in a magazine interview about how it feels 12 months on since splitting from the father of their three children — 8-year-old Camden, 6-year-old Jaxon, and 5-year-old Saylor.
The Very Cavallari star said that she is focusing on herself for “the first time in a long time,” adding that it feels good to have made herself “a priority” this year — allowing herself to “come up for air” for the first time.
She explained: “I’m just letting life happen rather than trying to plan everything out and saying, “OK, I want to do X, Y and Z. I have goals, obviously, but I’m just being more present, and that feels really good. … I’m just more at peace in general.”
Many supporters will relate to her desire to figure out what she wants to do in her life and figure out who she is as a person — two things Kristin spoke about in the interview.
She opened up about the fact she feels in a “major transitional phase” of her life, which is very exciting.
Rather than planning things out and always looking to the next big thing, Kristin Cavallari said she wants to “let life happen” and be more present at the moment, an approach which she says feels “really good and helps her to feel more at peace.”
Speaking about her mindset, Kristin said her change of approach has helped her feel calmer and happier and less stressed and worried.
She confessed to Us Weekly magazine: “I’m not stressed out. I’m not worrying about anything. … I’ve just been able to take a breath. It feels like, for the first time, I’ve been able to just come up for air. It’s been a roller-coaster. I mean, it’s sad when you close a chapter of your life, and Jay and I were together for ten years, and we have three kids together.”
Her reality TV show Very Cavallari canceled its fourth season last year since Kristin did not want to air her divorce from Jay Cutler on camera, particularly since her young children may grow up to watch it.
She described her decision as a tough one but believed she made the right choice.
