Meghan Markle apparently wanted to mingle with the high-profile celebrities at the lavish and controversial bash that former President Barack Obama had for his 60th birthday.
Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Barack and Michelle Obama had hundreds of famous faces at their multi-million dollar mansion in Martha’s Vineyard.
Michelle and Barack invited “royalty” from the worlds of Hollywood and politics to their mega celebration.
According to several unauthorized pictures that leaked online, many megastars, including John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, George Clooney, and JAY Z and Beyoncé, were present at the three-day festivities.
Many were baffled by the fact that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not present. It was reported that the power couple who recently welcomed a baby girl could not attend the lavish affair.
Throughout her pregnancy and after giving birth, Markle has avoided traveling, so many believed that it was the reason why she declined to be part of the event.
However, a royal insider has revealed that the Duchess of Sussex wanted to be part of the fancy gathering.
In an interview, royal author Angela Levin stated that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were never on the prestigious guest list that had about 475 people.
According to Prince Harry’s biographer, the Obamas might have shunned the powerful couple because they did not like the interviews and the airing of dirty laundry that recently took place.
It is a known fact that both Michelle and Barack Obama have strong ties to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William, and Kate Middleton and therefore cannot be seen palling around with the Sussex pair after their truth bombs.
Levin revealed that while Michelle and Barack Obama had a close relationship with Prince Harry, not the same can be said about Meghan Markle.
The royal commentator claimed that the political pair has seen through Meghan Markle’s tactics to fortune and fame.
The biographer said: “I am told that despite claiming she was unable to attend, Meghan desperately wanted to be the special guest at the Obama’s amazing party.”
She went on to reveal: “But the fact is, Harry and Meghan were never even on the original list. The Obamas clearly always regarded Harry highly, but I am sure they can see through Meghan. They may stay around, but they won’t be as pally as they once were.”
And speaking to The Sun, she explained why the Obama couple was forced to pick between Prince Harry and Prince William: “I’m sure that if they say we can only deal with one brother and his wife — you cannot have both because they are so far apart now — they will go towards William.”
Mr. Obama got blasted by many ex-fans in the media for hosting the bash.
