Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have shared the first photograph of their daughter, Lilibet since she was born in June this year.
The Sussexes released a Christmas card for 2021, which read “Happy Holidays” in large letters over the top of a sweet family photograph.
In the photo, Meghan Markle, 39, holds Lilibet “Lili” Diana in the air as she looks up and smiles at her youngest child.
Prince Harry, 36, is sitting next to Markle and smiling widely at Lilibet, wearing a cute white dress.
In Harry’s lap is Archie, 2, the Sussexes’ eldest child and seventh in line to the British throne.
Archie is wearing a white shirt that matches Lili’s dress, while Markle’s blacktop brings a contrast to the family snap taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski.
Apart from Lilibet, the whole family is wearing denim jeans, and Harry and Archie keep it very casual by going barefoot.
In the message published on their Archewell website, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry highlighted the fact that Lilibet was born in 2021.
“Lili made us a family,” they wrote in the message published on Thursday. When she was born in the summer, the Sussexes’ choice of name heaped more controversy within the British royal family, when some commentators called it “rude” to choose the name “Lilibet.”
Lilibet was the nickname given to the Queen by her late husband, Prince Philip, which some royal experts described as “private” despite Prince Harry’s claims that he asked permission from Her Majesty.
In this year’s Christmas message, Harry and Meghan also announced that their Archewell Foundation would support various organizations that “honor and protect families.”
The perfect family picture went viral and spilled a lot of ink. It took more than six months for Harry and Meghan to reveal their daughter’s face to the world. Therefore royal fans were delighted to see Lilibet Diana.
However, in order for the duo to hit that PR gold, they needed to break their privacy arrangements.
Royal writer Daniela Elser shared her opinion on the Christmas card by saying that many rules and convictions were tossed out the window.
The royal expert did not mince her words and claimed that the California royals made a “very serious error of judgment.”
She also brought up the privacy issues in her piece by writing: “Up until now, Harry and Meghan have assiduously, and totally understandably, shielded their little ones and done everything they can to minimize their exposure.”
She added: “Whether wittingly or not, they have just managed to demolish that carefully crafted and maintained wall of privacy they have built around their kids.”
She concluded by: “It is incredibly hard here to draw any conclusion, but that they must know what 24-carat PR this photo of the four of them represents and the incredible power and potency of this image of them as a damn-near-perfect modern family.”
The image has fans in awe and they are hoping for more.
