At the age of 67, Ray Liotta died. Officials and the family have not revealed the cause of death of the legendary actor.

Ray Liotta passed away in his sleep while in the Dominican Republic with his fiancée, Jacy Nittolo, by his side.

Liotta announced that he proposed to Nittolo, a mom of four, on Christmas Day 2020.

Liotta was in the Caribbean filming scenes for the upcoming movie Dangerous Waters. A reliable source told PEOPLE Magazine that foul play is not suspected in the death of Ray Liotta.

Another source revealed to TMZ that there was “nothing suspicious about the death”.

Ray Liotta built an epic career playing tough guys on TV and the big screen, but in real life, he was a loving father who put his daughter first no matter the price.

In Goodfellas, he starred opposite Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.

He captivated many in Field of Dreams opposite Kevin Costner and Corrina Corrina with Whoopi Goldberg.

He landed roles in The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story, and No Sudden Move.

Talking about his career, he told PEOPLE: “It’s weird how this business works because I’ve definitely had a career that’s up and down. For some reason, I’ve been busier this year than I have in all the years that I’ve been doing this. And I still feel I’m not there yet. I just think there’s a lot more.”

Liotta leaves behind his only daughter, Karsen Liotta, 23. He shared Karsen with ex-wife Michelle Grace.

Karsen is a former model who decided to make the big leap and follow her father’s footsteps.

She has landed acting roles in Prettyface, Mississippi Requiem, Nobodies, and Shades of Blue, which starred her late father and Jennifer Lopez.

Karsen revealed the important life lesson that her father taught her: “He taught me to do my homework, to always practice. That’s how you get where you want to be.”

Ray Liotta, who was born and raised in New Jersey, was abandoned at six months old in an orphanage and adopted by Democrats and politicians Alfred and Mary Liotta.

Talking about his unique life story, he shared: “At first, I didn’t understand how a parent could give up a child. So I had that kind of energy of just being like, that’s f—ed up. And then, when I finally met my birth mom in my 40s, by then, I wasn’t as angry about it. It’s just another journey.”

He added: “After years, you grow up, and you just see the pattern of things. I’ve definitely developed more patience. Now I’m grateful for my health. And being born. For my parents that adopted me. I mean, it could have gone a lot of different ways.”

Many in Hollywood have paid tribute to the acting legend.
