King Charles III sits on a massive multi-billion dollar fortune left behind by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Moreover, there is a possibility that he might have to spend some of that money to obtain his peace of mind and spare the monarchy and his wife, Camilla, the Queen Consort, a load of embarrassment.
Prince Harry is writing and revising his upcoming memoir, which is due in the spring of 2023. The Duke of Sussex signed a four-book deal with Penguin Random House.
It is believed that Meghan Markle‘s husband received an advance of $20 million from the $40 million deal.
In a press release, Prince Harry promised to share with readers a “firsthand account” of his life “that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
Like the rest of the world, King Charles discovered after the death of Queen Elizabeth II that Prince Harry did not hold back when he wrote the memoir.
The former soldier went so deep, sharing his truth, his struggles, and his pain, that he requested to meet with a publishing company to change some of the revelations that could cause pain to the Royal Family.
Several sources told Page Six and The Daily Mail that Prince Harry has failed to tone down his book.
With the publishing company’s refusal to make considerable changes to the memoir, Prince Harry has no choice but to march on with the publishing date and open a floodgate of humiliation on the British royals.
However, King Charles could make an unexpected move to stop the truth bombs from being dropped and protect his reign and Camilla Parker Bowles.
According to Tina Brown, King Charles might be forced to put his money where his mouth is by paying back the advance to the publishing company if he truly wants to shield the British monarchy from further embarrassment.
The English journalist explained: “They are now in this bind, where they’ve taken all this money, and Harry has made this book deal where he’s supposed to spill everything about his horrible life as a royal, but now he’s actually tortured about it because he understands there is no way back if he does it.”
The royal columnist added: “If the book continues, I don’t think there is any way for Harry to return. So my view has always been that the book won’t see the light of day. The window is beginning to close, but I always thought at some point a deal would be made, and Charles would have to pay back the advance to stop Harry from writing this book.”
Like Queen Elizabeth and King Charles did for Prince Andrew — he could rescue himself and Prince Harry by paying to close the chapter on the tell-all book for good.
If he does it from his own private funds, it would be acceptable. However, if he uses taxpayers’ money, the British people would rapidly show their anger.
King Charles, a shrewd businessman who is downsizing to protect the monarchy, might not be inclined to spend such a large amount for a book.
However, then again, people do crazy things for love; King Charles truly adores his wife and could go out of his way to protect her privacy.
