December is turning into a blockbuster month for the Royal Family, and the members of the British monarchy are dominating the headlines after the airing of Harry & Meghan on Netflix.
King Charles III has the whole world watching his every move and looking for answers. Is he going to remove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s titles?
Will he let their children — Archie and Lilibet — have theirs? How does he really feel about his son and daughter-in-law’s attacks on the monarchy?
The new Monarch is a shrewd player and has made sure not to show much. His wife, Camilla, Queen Consort, is doing the exact same thing hoping that all of the drama will just go away.
Prince William and Kate Middleton put on a brave face, but their struggle is palpable. They feel “betrayed” by the renegade royals.
While the main members of the Royal Family keep a dignified silence in the face of what some people call calumny, they have an army of defenders working every day to debunk the claims made by The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the docuseries.
The supporters want nothing more than to expose the so-called duplicity of the Sussexes. To some extent, the royal fans have a point; the power couple has been caught on several occasions playing fast and loose with the facts.
In the latest example, Markle insisted in the documentary that performing a curtsy during her first meeting with Queen Elizabeth II was a new concept for her and that she knew nothing about how to execute it well.
Her husband started this portion of the documentary by stating: “My grandmother was the first senior member of the family that Meghan met. She had no idea what it all consisted of, so it was a bit of a shock to the system for her.”
The former actress then picked up with: “It was surreal. There wasn’t some big moment of like, ‘And now you’re gonna meet my grandmother.’ I didn’t know I was going to meet her until moments before.”
She continued: “We were in the car, and we were going to the Royal Lodge for lunch, and [Harry] was like, ‘Oh, my grandmother’s here. She’s going to be there after church.’ And I remember we were in the car and driving up, and he said, ‘You know how to curtsy, right?’ And I just thought it was a joke.”
The 38-year-old father of two later explained: “How do you explain that to people? How do you explain that you bow to your grandmother and that you will need to curtsy? Especially to an American. Like, that’s weird.”
This part of the program angered many royal fans because they found Markle, 41, was mocking the institution and the legacy of the late Queen.
The proud activist was not telling the truth because an Instagram user has found a clip of Markle “executing a curtsy perfectly” during a 2010 episode of her TV series Suits.
Some observers are wondering why this “lie” was even necessary. Something similar happened regarding the moment when the Sussexes actually got married.
Royal fans are using these incidents to prove that the couple cannot be trusted with their stories.
