The coronation of King Charles III is shaping up with lots of pageantries and a dash of royal drama.

Leaked plans from Buckingham Palace show that King Charles has decided that Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s three children — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, will play significant roles.

According to those same plans, His Majesty has yet to decide if he wants Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s children, Archie and Lilibet, at the event.

Preparations are being made for Camilla, Queen Consort‘s five grandchildren, to take center stage at the crowning ceremony.

King Charles also has his heart set on his oldest grandchild, Prince George, who is the heir to the throne, taking part in the most sacred moments when he is being coronated.

On the biggest day of his life, King Charles wants to project the image of the doting grandfather and the brilliant Sovereign who is intensely focused on the future and continuation of the monarchy.

And he can use Prince George’s presence to achieve his goals. However, King Charles’s decision has left Kate Middleton and Prince William struggling.

On the one hand, the parents know that their son will be King one day and must be prepared to fulfill formal and high-profile roles.

However, on the other, he is just a child, and Prince William and Middleton fear that he is being asked too much and will be under a vast amount of pressure to perform at the state event that will be watched by millions of people worldwide.

According to a royal expert with contacts in the Palace, King Charles’s request has left Prince William and his wife having arguments on whether to protect their son as much as they can or grasp the idea that he is destined to be in the spotlight.

In an interview with Express, royal commentator Tom Quinn revealed: “I’ve heard from my contacts that there is a bit of an argument going on about whether George should play a more formal role. I’ve heard that Kate and William are worried that it will be too much for him.”

Quinn explained why past difficult and traumatizing moments shared by Prince Harry and Prince William have forced the couple to be careful and concerned for young George.

He explained: “It’s almost an echo of the way William and Harry were sometimes made to attend formal occasions that they shouldn’t have been made to attend, most famously, the funeral of their mother, and walking behind her coffin at their age. A lot of people criticized that and said that it was a horrible thing to make two boys that young, and especially Harry, do.”

He concluded by saying: “So I think people are remembering this and thinking, ‘Well hang on a minute, if George is some sort of a pageboy, or has a similar role at the Coronation, is that going back too far towards the traditional roles?’

Prince Harry spoke about his painful moment with Newsweek by saying: “My mother had just died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television. I don’t think any child should be asked to do that under any circumstances. I don’t think it would happen today.”

Many reports say King Charles has always regretted pushing his young sons to participate in the event.
