While Donald Trump faces the media and the justice system, his wife, Melania Trump, has decided to remove herself from the chaos.
On Tuesday, the media mogul entered the history books as the first former president to be indicted.
Trump is facing unprecedented criminal charges for allegedly falsifying documents and violating election laws in his attempts to cover scandalous stories that could ruin his political campaign and his marriage to Melania Trump.
The prosecutors said via New York Post: “The allegations are tied to six-figure payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, who said they had sexual encounters with Trump years earlier. The third payoff – totaling $30,000 — was made to a Trump Tower doorman who claimed to have a story about a child he alleged Trump had out of wedlock.”
Donald Trump, surrounded by an army of lawyers and Secret Service members, surrendered to authorities at the Manhattan Criminal Court.
He was charged with 34 felony counts but was not arrested, and his mugshot was not taken. With a grim look on his face, the former reality TV star entered a not guilty plea.
After being arraigned, Donald Trump flew back to Florida, where he held a press conference to slam the “witch hunt.”
The billionaire businessman had several members of his family present at his Mar-a-Lago estate as he delivered his fiery speech.
Eric Trump and his wife, Lara, Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Tiffany Trump and her new husband, Michael Boulos, took front-row seats at the event.
The media was quick to point to the obvious, Melania Trump was not standing next to her husband as he fought against the accusations that he cheated on her and paid hefty amounts to cover it up.
Donald Trump was not thrilled by his wife’s decision to skip the event and made his anger known.
To punish Melania Trump, the Republican politician made sure to thank his entire family and left her name out.
Trump stated: “I have a son here who has done a great job, and I have another son here who has done a great job … and Tiffany and Ivanka. And Barron will be great someday. He is tall, he is tall, and he’s smart. But I have a great family, and they have done a fantastic job, and we appreciate it very much. They have gone through hell.”
PEOPLE Magazine has revealed that Melania Trump is upset by the Stormy Daniels accusations, and she does not feel concerned by her husband’s drama.
The source shared: “She remains angry and doesn’t want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned. She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends. She wants to ignore it and hopes it will pass, but she doesn’t sympathize with Donald’s plight.”
The indictment has made Trump the prohibitive favorite in the GOP primary for president.
