Former President Donald Trump is never one to hold back, and this week he decided to share his thoughts on the first GOP primary debate.
The controversial politician was not present at the debate because he is leading in the polls and claimed not to need the publicity.
Trump is also feuding with Fox News, the network that hosted the debate. Nonetheless, the embattled billionaire sat down with Glenn Beck to reveal his thoughts on the fiery exchanges between the candidates.
The real estate mogul revealed without hesitation that controversial newcomer and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy had a great night.
Vivek Ramaswamy, who has some tough positions on business, immigration, and other social issues, was the punching bag of the night. Chris Christie and Nikki Haley piled on the tech billionaire, who fought tooth and nail to make a mark for himself.
Trump was asked by Beck if he believed that Ramaswamy was vice president material. Trump replied by saying that it was impossible for him not to like Ramaswamy.
Ramaswamy, during the debate and in interviews, has been singing Trump’s praises. Ramaswamy’s admiration for Trump and legendary rapper Eminem seems to be equal.
Donald Trump said he loved hearing the wonderful words that Vivek Ramaswamy had to say about him and added: “Well, I think he’s great. Look, anybody who says, I’m the best president in a generation. I don’t know; you have to define a generation. That’s a long time.”
Trump continued to explain how delighted he was to have his ego stroked by Ramaswamy. The former reality star said: “He said it a couple of times. And he said it in 100 years. So I have to like a guy like that. You know, I can’t get upset with him.”
Trump had a few compliments for Ramaswamy who he described as “smart,” a “young guy” and a “very intelligent person” who has “a lot of talent” and “good energy.”
Donald Trump claimed: “He could be some form of something, I’d tell you. I think he’d be very good. I think he’s very good. I think he’s really distinguished himself.”
Trump concluded the interview with a warning for Ramaswamy — he is becoming too controversial too fast.
The real estate tycoon shared: “He’s starting to get out there a little bit. He’s a little bit — getting a little bit controversial. I’d tell him to be a little bit careful. Some things you have to hold in just a little bit, right? But he’s got a lot of good energy, and he’s been very nice to me.”
