In a matter of weeks, it will be the holiday season, and many are wondering if King Charles III, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, will spend some time together as a family.
For a brief moment, it looked like there was a narrow path being forged for the clan to come together. However, hélas, it seems that Meghan Markle has other plans.
While the former actress is giving her husband carte blanche to do as he pleases when it comes to renewing his ties to his family, she has decided to let the mother in her come out regarding her young children, Archie and Lilibet.
It is believed that Prince Harry will be going back and forth between London and Montecito as he amends his troubled relationship with King Charles.
However, Markle has decided that she and her children will not be part of the outreach for now. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams suggested via Express: “It does seem unlikely that Meghan will be visiting Britain any time soon. The same, in the short term anyway, applies to Archie and Lili.”
He added: “I see no substance to the rumor that Harry will split his time between the United States and Britain. He has serious concerns about security and still has a case pending against the Home Office regarding this, which is awaiting trial.”
It is a short-term plan for now, so there is a possibility that if King Charles and Prince Harry can work out some kind of arrangement, she might change her mind.
The author went on to say: “It is obviously important that there is an arrangement, probably, though not necessarily, with the Royal Family, which gives him a secure permanent base that he can use when he does visit Britain.”
If, in the future, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle buy a home in London, their children will be visiting British soil on a regular basis.
If King Charles offered the family an apartment and the necessary security, they would certainly travel to England more often.
Until these conditions are met, Archie and Lilibet will be as American as apple pie and learn about their father and grandfather’s country via books, videos, and Prince Harry’s stories and anecdotes.
On one side, Markle is being applauded for her decision to protect her children, and on the other, she is getting slammed for keeping them away from their families.
Some voices say that if Markle is not comfortable in the UK, it is her prerogative not to send her children to that country.
However, other royal experts find the situation disheartening because Archie and Lilibet barely knew their great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and will not be able to make memories with King Charles.
