For months, there have been rumors circulating that Tom Cruise is taking some distance from The Church of Scientology.
It was claimed that his reputation had suffered a bit, so he took a step back from the controversial religion.
For a brief time, there was some hope that he was cutting ties with the Church because he wanted to finally play a role in his daughter, Suri Cruise‘s life.
This month, Tom Cruise has decided to end all chatter by making a surprising public statement.
According to photos obtained by The Daily Mail, Tom Cruise was seen making a grand entrance at a Scientology headquarters in a helicopter, of course.
The daredevil Mission Impossible star flew in a black helicopter to the Church of Scientology Continental Liaison Office & Commodore’s Messenger Organization in East Grinstead, Sussex.
Tom Cruise’s arrival was marred by heavy protests by a group of people who believe that the Church has hurt too many people.
The anti-Scientology protests carried signs that reminded him that he has a daughter, Suri Cruise, whom he has not been in contact with for more than 12 years.
One sign read: “When was the last time you saw your family? They love you, and so do we.” Another one said: “Who is really at cause over your life?”
Alexander Barnes-Ross, who organized the protest, said it was “the largest anti-Scientology protests in 15 years” and explained that he put the event together because they are demanding the end of “harsh and abusive practices of the religion.”
Tom Cruise braved the angry protests to make a point – he has chosen the Church of Scientology over everything, including friends like David and Victoria Beckham and his daughter, Suri Cruise, who is seen as a suppressive person.
A source recently told Page Six that “Tom has not seen his teen daughter in a very long time and is not a part of her life.”
After the divorce, Tom Cruise, who was embroiled in a $50 million suit, told his lawyers that indeed a lot had changed in his “situation” with his daughter whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes.
He stated: “Listen, when there is a divorce … things change. It’s not an ideal scene. It’s not an ideal situation.”
According to the media outlet, during a “deposition for that same $50 million suit, “he confessed that his ties to Scientology had played a pivotal role in why he was separated from Suri. ‘
When asked whether Holmes had left him “in part to protect Suri from Scientology,” Tom responded at the time, “That was one of the assertions, yes.”
Cruise seems open about his choices.
