To put it mildly, Selena Gomez‘s new boyfriend should not be in a rush to buy an engagement ring because she is keeping her options open.
This week, several media outlets confirmed that Gomez has been quietly dating Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler.
According to sources who spoke to the Miami Herald, the duo was spotted getting very cozy on a date.
No pictures of Butler and Gomez together have surfaced, and the singer has declined to comment on her personal life.
However, a friend of the Texan diva spoke to E! News and revealed that they have been on several dates.
According to the person familiar with the situation, while the pop star is having a great time with the NBA sensation, she is not ready to settle down and is keeping her dating options open.
It seems that Butler is Mr. Right Now, but he is not Mr. Right.
The insider claimed: “Selena is keeping her options open but has been on a few dates with Jimmy and thinks he’s a great guy. They hung out a few times while Selena was in New York City. Jimmy asked her to go to dinner, and they had a great time. It’s very casual, and she’s open to seeing where things go, but isn’t settling down just yet.”
The pal went on to reveal that Gomez “is currently single but has recently been more open to dating and her friends want to set her up all the time, but she has loved being single.”

The friend reminded the world that the artist’s dating life has been a bit more complicated because of the ongoing pandemic.
The pal said Gomez, who is battling lupus, has prioritized her health and added: “Selena has been very careful with her health this year and has barely left her quarantine bubble. She’s been extremely busy working from home on her new beauty line and is very proud to have launched that during a pandemic. She’s been enjoying cooking at home and only seeing a select few friends and family members regularly.”
Gomez had a complicated romance with Justin Bieber that ended in 2018. A few months later, Bieber married Hailey Baldwin, (now Hailey Bieber).
This week, Bieber and his wife were forced to issue a statement that had a link to Gomez. Bieber shared a video of a woman harassing his wife while claiming that Gomez should have been the one with the wedding ring.
The crazed fan stated: “Hailey Baldwin is going to do a Live, right? Where she’s talking about herself, 20 questions with Justin Bieber. This is the time where they will not be turning off comments, so we need to f–king bombard that s–t with Jelena and how Selena is better. Go after, please, let’s all go after her.”
Bieber, who had enough, said this: “This sad excuse of a human just encouraged people on the video to literally go after my wife telling people to say that my previous relationship was better, so on and so forth. I just wanted to share this, so people get an idea of what we face on a day today.”
Hailey added: “It has truly gotten to a level of anger and hate that is shockingly unhealthy and sad. I would never in a million years wish for someone to be treated this way, and I will never condone this kind of hateful behavior. I want only to support, uplift, and encourage other women in this industry and wish them nothing but love and success, and I wish for all of my followers and supporters to do the same!! wishing the young woman in that video all the best; I hope she finds love, peace, and happiness in this life!”
