If people can lose their titles for being scandalous, why can’t others be recognized for being loyal, dutiful, and respectful?
An expert jumped on the matter to explain that Mrs.Middleton will probably never receive a title because of that dreaded word: hereditary.
HELLO! ‘s online royal correspondent, Danielle Stacey, weighed in to say: “As parents of a future Queen Consort and stalwart supporters of the royal family, it begs the question: will Carole and Michael Middleton receive official royal titles when their daughter becomes Queen?”
She added: “It’s very unlikely that Carole and Michael Middleton will be given titles, despite being the parents of a Queen Consort, and this is all down to the rules around peerage titles. A dukedom is a hereditary noble title that has the highest rank of peerage in Britain, and titles can be passed down from a parent or granted by the present reigning monarch. When Kate married Prince William in 2011, Queen Elizabeth II gave them the title of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”
The Sun also noted: “As per the Royal Family website, the Monarch is the “fountain of honor” in the UK and has the “sole right” to confer titles of honor. However, it’s understood that new hereditary peerages are typically only granted to members of the Royal Family.”
According to royal experts, Carole Middleton “could be given a life peerage” by Prince William when he becomes King.
Some observers say that not getting a title right now is a form of punishment for a very loyal servant.
