Donald Trump had some harsh words for actor George Clooney, and months later, he decided to respond by issuing a challenge.
Over the summer, the Hollywood star became the face of the rebellion that led President Joe Bidden out of the 2024 campaign.
After Biden’s debate against Trump, Clooney penned a damaging New York Times op-ed demanding that Biden resign because he was too old and unfit for office.
Once Biden stepped down, many Democrats lashed out at Clooney, who was once a significant backer and fighter for Biden.
In a surprising twist, Donald Trump also slammed Clooney for his part in the coup to unseat the current president.
Taking to Truth Social, Trump said that Clooney was a nincompoop who knew nothing about politics.
The former president told George Clooney to stop meddling in politics and to get back to the one thing he is good at — acting.
In a jaw-dropping post, Donald Trump said: “So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. He’s turned on Crooked Joe like the rats they both are. What does Clooney know about anything?”
Trump highlighted what he deemed the most critical part of Clooney’s piece: “Biden saved our Democracy.”
The real estate mogul wrote: “He uses the Democrat “talking point” that Biden, the WORST President in the history of the United States, has “saved our Democracy. Crooked Joe Biden didn’t save our Democracy; he brought our Democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!!!”
Months later, Clooney decided to answer the former president. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor was asked to share his thoughts on Donald Trump’s brutal demand that he “get out of politics and go back to television”
Clooney told Kimmel that he “will get out of politics and go back to television. You know, I will if he does.”
He added: “That’s a trade-off I’d do.” Clooney also told Kimmel that Biden did “something really extraordinary” with his decision to “let go of power.”
With polls showing a slight lead for Vice President Kamala Harris, Mr. Trump is doing all that he can to grab headlines and win every news cycle.
The former president is now using Hurricane Helene against his opponent and the current administration. According to experts, seven states will decide this election.
