Meghan Markle has been working hard behind the scenes to have something to her name finally. However, Prince Harry and his privileged ways destroy Markle’s grand ambitions.
Earlier this year, Markle bravely launched Americana Rivera Orchard, or ARO, but it was met with one challenge after another.
The former actress, hoping to follow in Gwyneth Paltrow and Kourtney Kardashian‘s footsteps, had to accept that she might not be cut out for the demanding and challenging business world.
Many of her staff resigned, and some of these ex-employees dropped a humiliating dossier about her being a mean boss in the media. Markle was forced to give up her search for a CEO and appointed herself to the top post.
The California native is also embroiled in a lengthy battle over a trademark for the company. With so many riding against the lifestyle brand, Markle has decided that her best bet is Netflix with a cookery show to promote ARO.
However, according to several reports, Prince Harry’s controversial polo series has significantly jeopardized Markle’s chances with Netflix. His actions have a heavy impact on her career.
Viewers and critics have destroyed the series that premiered earlier this year. The show has been described as a pompous attempt to make the masses love a foreign sport.
And many view it as a blatant display of wealth and privilege that is out of touch with the average person. Polo is for the extremely wealthy and privileged, and no one wants that being rubbed in their faces.
Eric Schiffer, chair of Reputation Management Consultants, told Newsweek, via The Daily Mail: “It’s a pompous portrayal of privilege posing as a documentary. It feels fake. You could almost see an ad, “polo the new cure for insomnia, brought to you by royalty.”‘
He continued by saying that Prince Harry has confirmed how much he is out of touch with regular people who work nine-to-five jobs and feel the pinch in their wallets when the prices of gas and groceries go up.
He explained: “They’ve made it the new frontier of unreliability. This ensures polo becomes even less popular for regular people. It just reeks of entitlement and is disconnected, unrelatable.”
Via The New York Post, it has now been confirmed that Prince Harry’s big mess has spilled over into Markle’s business territory.
Prince Harry’s disastrous show might get Markle’s cookery program canned before it airs. A source who spoke to the media outlet, a close associate of the couple who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that the show’s poor reception had jeopardized Markle’s Netflix cooking show.
Reporter Kirsten Fleming revealed in The New York Post: “Now comes a report that DOA Polo has put Markle’s Netflix cooking show—meant to accompany her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard—in jeopardy. This will likely mean that the couple’s $100 million deal with the streaming giant will not be renewed. There won’t be another deal. There may be one-offs, but that’s it.”
Markle will have to overcome this obstacle.
