Martha Stewart‘s 2025 is off to a bright start with this wholesome move, bringing a new source of joy into her life.
The 83-year-old lifestyle guru took to Instagram and her official blog to share some heartwarming news — she has adopted a beautiful Persian cat named Magnolia.
The TV personality revealed that she was drawn to the wonderful animal after emailing back and forth with a New York animal shelter.
She shared several photos of her newest addition to her family, accompanied by the following message of hope and encouragement: “I urge anyone looking for a pet to check out local rescues and shelters – there are so many desirable and wonderful animals waiting for homes. Last month, I heard about a young female Persian cat in need of adoption. She was under the care of Rock’ N Rescue, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Bedford Hills, New York, not far from my farm. I love Persians and have been thinking of adding another to my family. I made an appointment to visit right away, and that same afternoon, I took her with me back to Cantitoe Corners – her new “forever” home.”
She went on to give more details about the adopted pet.
Martha Stewart explained that Magnolia has a regal appearance because she is part of the aristocrats of the cat world and added: “Persians are known for being laid-back, charming, and affectionate. Magnolia loves people and greets all those she sees. These cats are well-loved for their regal appearance and are often referred to as the “aristocrats of the cat world. Males and females are medium-to-large-sized cats with round, flat faces, known as brachycephalic, and long, flowing coats.”
The businesswoman continued by revealing the cat’s intriguing personality. The animal lover has adopted a curious feline who enjoys discovering every room of her house.
Magnolia, whose previous owner passed away, is a well-behaved cat in top shape. Martha Stewart wrote: “Magnolia is also quite curious – roaming from room to room, upstairs and downstairs. In addition, she is a very good eater and drinker – a sign of excellent health, especially when acclimating to new surroundings.”
Stewart concluded the blog post by admitting that Magnolia, the newcomer, will need time to settle in with her and her numerous other pets.
However, she believes that she will eventually fit right in with love and patience. The author stated: “Right now, Magnolia is still going through a transitional phase – getting to know me and all the activity around my home, but she’s doing extremely well and will be a wonderful addition to my menagerie and my family. Welcome home, Magnolia.”
Stewart is ready to make nice memories with her friend.
