Brad Pitt cannot talk about his six children because they have been estranged for about nine years now.
Pitt found himself in one of those too well-known and painful situations where a father divorces a mother and, subsequently, his children.
The filmmaker has been forced to part ways with Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne, who have dropped his last name and declined to communicate with him.
The Oscar-winning actor has given up on his custody fight for his children after endlessly and pointlessly fighting it in courtrooms and the public sphere with Angelina Jolie.
Angelina Jolie is the only one who seldom updates the public on her clan. In a recent interview, the humanitarian opened up about her children’s plans.
Four are currently in university, and the youngest two are entering high school. According to Jolie, her children have decided to forge their unique paths in life.
Without giving many details, Jolie explained the one place they would never go to: Hollywood. She made bittersweet revelations while participating on a Santa Barbara International Film Festival panel.
The mother shared that even though her children grew up around movie sets, had acting roles when they were younger, with one even directing a documentary, and walked the red carpet multiple times with both parents, they have not caught the bug for cinematography.
Jolie was raw and honest, saying she tried and failed to have any of them follow in her footsteps. She shared: “They really don’t like any of the celebrity parts of it, especially Shiloh hates it. It’s not a normal thing. It’s a silly thing, really. That’s not my doing. I always wanted them to be around film because … it’s such a wonderful family, to be creative, to be an artist … They’re not interested…Some of them dance, some of them paint, some of them love theater, but none of them are dying to be on screen.”
She further stated: “It’s good to start them in working. [You’ve] got to run around and do anything for everybody. And so they’ve been doing that in a few films. None of them want to be in front of the camera. They are quite private, [Shiloh is] extremely private. They weren’t born with privacy, so I hope they can have that as they get older.”
She concluded the interview by expressing her unwavering support for her children’s career plans, assuring the audience that she wants nothing but success for them.
Many have applauded the children’s lack of interest in the celebrity lifestyle, which is often stressful and scandalous.
