Michael Bublé, who launched his musical career in 1996, is retiring from music after becoming one of the most recognizable faces in pop and jazz.
The 43-year-old Canadian-Italian is quitting to focus on his family and because he grew disillusioned with the price of fame.
Moreover, Bublé’s son, Noah‘s liver cancer diagnosis in 2016, changed his perspective on life. The 5-year-old child is now in remission.
The Haven’t Met You Yet” singer, who is married to 31-year-old Argentine actress Luisana Lopilato of Alguien que me quiera fame, will release his tenth studio album, Love, on November 16.
The four-time Grammy Awards winner has a net worth estimated anywhere between $75 million and $150 million. In 2015, he reportedly earned $45.5 million. Bublé sold 75 million records.
In an interview with Daily Mail‘s Weekend magazine, he shared, “This is my last interview. I’m retiring from the business. I’ve made the perfect record, and now I can leave at the very top.”
He continued by revealing, “I don’t even know how I was breathing. I didn’t question who I was; I just questioned everything else.”
The father of three also said, “The diagnosis made me realize how stupid I’d been to worry about these unimportant things. I was embarrassed by my ego, that it had allowed this insecurity. And I decided I’d never read my name again in print, never read a review, and I never have. I decided I’d never use social media again, and I never have. The celebrity narcissism. I started to crumble. But then I started to wonder why I wanted to do this in the first place.”
Fans headed to social media and wished one of their favorite artists well. One of them stated: “I am going to miss you and your beautiful voice more than I could ever express. I wish you and your family many blessing and continued health and lots of LOVE.”
Some supporters are still hoping that Bublé will change his mind in the future.
