However, the latest one might be more surprising than the others. There is a possibility that Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, might be pushed to issue an apology to Meghan Markle in the upcoming years.

According to one royal expert, Prince William and Kate Middleton would resolve all the problems with the American public by issuing an apology for slavery.
Clive Irving, author of The Last Queen and royal columnist at The Daily Beast, shared: “It’s clear that William and Kate are very popular here [in America] among those who follow the Royal Family. William and Kate are much more appropriate to American taste than the King himself is.”
The royal biographer added: “However, William and Kate principally have a real problem they’ve got to deal with—one they stumbled over last year.”
Irving continued: “They have to deal with all the revelations about the Royal Family’s involvement in slavery. And they’ve got to show some kind of atonement for that. It’s a very live political issue in the US.”
Whether Prince William and Kate Middleton want to or not, their decision to open up a conversation about slavery would include Meghan Markle; there is simply no way around it.
Markle is the only biracial member of the Royal Family, with an African-American mother who is the descendant of slaves. Recently, Markle explained that she was able to do a DNA test that revealed that she is Nigerian.
Markle and Prince Harry have openly spoken about the monarchy’s dark past and involvement in colonization and slavery.
The pair has put the topic of racism in the UK front and center during multiple interviews while discussing the horrific murder of George Floyd.
Markle has opened up about the racist abuse that she endured as a working royal. She also confessed that her children had been the subject of racist attacks.
In a nutshell, Prince William and Kate Middleton would not be able to say anything about race, slavery, or racism without being reminded that Meghan Markle is half black and needs to be included in that important conversation.
