In another incident in a stream of strange occurrences related to vandalizing ice cream in hazardous ways, Jung Soon Wypcha, a Florida woman, who was working at a convenience store, is now facing charges for allegedly urinating in another business’ ice cream machine.
The action has ruined thousands of dollars’ worth of product at Lu Lu’s Ice Cream Shop, according to reports, and has made the machine a health hazard.
The woman, who worked at the Indian Shores Food Mart, has been taken in by authorities and is currently facing charges for her actions.
According to video surveillance, on June 17, Wypcha was seen urinating in the bathroom that Shores Food Mart and Lu Lu’s Ice Cream Shop have in common with the door wide open.
The woman did not wash her hands, and she proceeded to rub them on the ice cream tubs found at Lu Lu’s Ice Cream Shop’s freezers.
She was also spotted, picking her nose, and touching the ice cream afterward as well. On June 22, the Indian Shores Food Mart employee was spotted once more on camera doing a few disgusting acts.
Cameras caught her urinating in a bucket that was used to churn ice cream at Lu Lu’s Ice Cream Shop. She dumped the pre-filled bucket into a sink where ice cream utensils and bowls are washed. The story has shocked many people who have referred to her acts as disgusting.
This is not the first such incident in recent weeks, and several people were caught licking tubs of ice cream and spitting in drinks and putting them back on the shelves at stores across the U.S.
Police have been able to identify various perpetrators in such cases so far after the original incident went viral (a Texas woman was filmed licking the contents of a Blue Bell ice cream and putting it back in the freezer) and sparked a series of copycats.
However, this is the first time someone has taken things to such an extreme level.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Wypcha has been charged with one count of tampering, a first-degree felony and two counts of criminal mischief, a third-degree felony. Wypcha rapidly posted a $55,000 bond and was released from jail.
The owners of Lu Lu’s Ice Cream Shop Paul and Beth Chiulli spoke to local media and said they are sad by what occurred and added that worker ruined over $2,000 worth of ice cream.
Moreover, people in the area are looking for answers and are not very happy about what happened. A female customer stated: “How do we know that the person that did all this did not have a disease or even Hepatitis A? In our community are they being warned, whoever ate there?”
A property owner even asked Indian Shores Police chief Richard Swann during a recent meeting that the culprit be tested and he replied: “I do not know the individual’s health status. I don’t know whether or not she is but I would tell you that that’s going to be a request that’s made at the time of the invest and at the hearing, as to whether or not it’s possible to have her tested.”
Wypcha is banned from the ice cream shop.
