According to a royal source, the relationship between Princess Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, has slightly deteriorated because of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The two sisters came to disagreement because Princess Eugenie was not happy over the fact her older sibling shared the news of her pregnancy on the third anniversary of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding and stole the spotlight from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
It seems that Eugenie and her spouse, Jack Brooksbank, were still “extremely close to Meghan” and firmly believed that the royal family did not need any more disputes.
In addition, Princess Eugenie supposedly stated that it was unfair for Meghan and Harry to be shunned on their anniversary despite that the Duchess of Sussex announced her first pregnancy on Eugenie and Jack’s wedding day back in 2018.
According to an insider, Princess Eugenie was a very forgiving person. Even though she was initially hurt by Meghan’s revealing her pregnancy on her wedding day, she did not want to hold a grudge anymore.
Apparently, the 31-year-old granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II thought that rift between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and the rest of the royal family went on for too long and “for Beatrice to announce her baby news on that day was uncalled for, in her view.”
An Insider said: “Eugenie is still extremely close to Meghan, as is Jack, and they feel it was really unfair to grab the headlines that day. Eugenie didn’t approve of the decision to shun Meghan and Harry’s anniversary — she feels that they have been incredibly hard-done-by.”
The source continued: “Eugenie is very forgiving — which is a surprise to a lot of people, especially when you consider how it was an open secret that she found it hurtful that Meghan’s pregnancy announcement was made on the day of her and Jack’s wedding.”
The person also added: “But she’s very much of the opinion that this feud has gone on way too long, and everyone needs to forget the past. For Beatrice to announce her baby news on that day was uncalled for, in her view.”
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been maintaining that the royal family did not offer the couple any help when needed and that Meghan Markle even had suicidal thoughts at one point.
Prince Harry stated in a recent interview, “I thought my family would help, but every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, just got met with total silence, total neglect.”
After bashing the royal family, Prince Harry and his wife seem to be singing a different tune after announcing the birth of their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
Several stories have leaked after they welcomed the baby girl saying that they have been trying to get back in the Queen‘s good grace.
Prince Harry, his wife, and two children are hoping to travel to London in June 2022 for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee — the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
Interestingly enough, Buckingham Palace has adopted a firmer stance when it comes to the power couple in recent days.
