A 25-year-old school secretary at Pasco County middle school in Florida named Heather Matheison has been arrested for allegedly sending an explicit video via Snapchat — showing her masturbating — to a student, who was just 14 years old at the time of the incident, according to reports.
The arresting officer wrote in the affidavit: “The complainant showed me a short video, which shows the defendant’s face. She is wearing a shirt but no pants. She described the video exactly as I had seen it, and she confessed to sending it over Snapchat to the 14-year-old victim.”
The boy went ahead and forwarded the video to his mother, who was immediately disgusted and outraged and took appropriate action to report the woman to the authorities.
The video reportedly even shows the woman’s face, and even though she was wearing a shirt in it, she was also without her pants, exposing quite a lot of herself.
According to the boy, the video was specifically sent over Snapchat so that he would have no chance to record it.
However, he was quick enough to keep a copy and sent it to his mother via Facebook Messenger immediately.
The woman has not tried to hide the fact that she sent the video, and has been cooperating with authorities on the case since her arrest.
It is not clear if she has shown any remorse for her actions; however, as some reports indicate that she has been very nonchalant about the whole incident.
As others have pointed out, however, this could also be explained with the fact that the woman is likely going through quite a lot right now, and likely does not want to engage the public all too much.
Especially given the fact that opinions of her are already low as it is, so she might not have too much of a chance to get her side of the story out.
Some commenters did wonder what kind of features the child had in place because Snapchat videos can only be exchanged under certain conditions.
The woman, who knew the age of the boy, was released on a $500 bond. Her employment situation at Chasco Middle School remains unclear, according to local media.
