Joe Biden Responds To Tara Reade Sexual Assault Allegation In Interview With ‘Morning Joe’

Joe Biden Tara Reade Morning Joe Interview

Vice President Joe Biden finally addressed the Tara Reade sexual assault allegation on Friday during an interview with Mika Brzezinski from MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

The interview was sharp, and Brzezinski was determined to get some answers from the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, who said: “No. It’s not true. I’m saying unequivocally it never, never happened. And it didn’t. I don’t remember any type of complaint she has made.”

Reade, who had previously said that when she worked as a Senate staffer for Biden in 1992-93, he made her feel uncomfortable; changed her tune in late March, and claimed the Democratic politician put his hand under her skirt and penetrated her private parts with his fingers.

At first, the mainstream media avoided covering the story because Reade is a big supporter of Biden’s former primary rival, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

In her writings, she had also said some positive things about Russian President Vladimir Putin. She has evolved on Russia in recent years after criticizing the country in the past.

The same thing occurred when it comes to Biden. A few years ago, she praised several times for always speaking “truth.” However, in 2019, before he launched his campaign, she joined other women to say that he had touched them inappropriately. The assault was never mentioned.

Biden said on Friday: “I’m not going to question her motive. I’m not going to get into this at all. I don’t know why she is saying this…I don’t understand it.”

Two friends and her brother have corroborated some of Reade’s claims, but there was some backtracking there too.

A Larry King video from August 1993 featuring the voice of Reade’s deceased mother was supposed to bring some clarity to the case, but it did not.

In it, the mom says her daughter faced some “problems” while working for a prominent senator, but she chose not to go public out of respect for him. Some of Biden’s supporters have wondered why would a victim have respect for the person who raped them.

Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are backing Biden, but they are being called hypocrites for the way they treated then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh when he faced similar accusations.

The GOP is now embracing the #MeToo movement hoping this will help them against Biden in November, while they always said that the #BelieveAllWomen mantra was the wrong approach.
