A new shocking interview with Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, who was once a close confidant and senior advisor to Melania Trump, reveals that the President’s relationship with his wife was nothing more than a “transactional” marriage, which provided him with an “arm candy,” whereas she got protection.
According to Wolkoff, Melania only profited by tying the knot with the business mogul, as she made the jump from being an unsuccessful young model to a married woman that became an American citizen, got a son, and the opportunity to be the First Lady of the United States.
The former friend of Melania explained that even though it must have been an exciting experience for the Slovenian-born beauty, she was definitely not in love with her husband, as she stated, “I do believe it was a magic moment, and I also believe it was a made-for-TV moment.”
Wolkoff said in an interview with the BBC: “I do believe it’s a transactional marriage. Donald got arm candy.”
She added: “Melania got two dynamic decades. She was a young model, she didn’t have success yet. She met Donald, she married, she became an American citizen, they had a son and ten years after that she’s the first lady of the United States.”
The controversial couple had a lavish wedding back in 2005 — the high-profile event took place at Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida.
Shortly after the wedding, Melania was featured on the front page of the February 2005 edition of Vogue, which Wolkoff described as a very important event because “the Vogue cover legitimized Melania, legitimized Donald as well.”
This is not the first time that Wolkoff opened up about her life with the first lady, as she has been trying to actively advertise her memoir, Melania And Me, which is currently one of the most popular books in the US.
Meanwhile, Melania reacted to the statements of her former friend by deeming them as “delusional & malicious gossip” in a recent message on social media.
First Lady Trump, who is sick with the coronavirus, was humiliated after Wolkoff shared a secret recording where she was bashing her duties in the White House and reactions to the President’s immigration policies.
Melania said: “They say I’m complicit. I’m the same like him, I support him. I don’t say enough I don’t do enough where I am.”
She added: “I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?”
Observers say that despite all of the noise, Melania has remained quite loyal to her husband, at least, in a political sense.
