No celebrity can escape the paparazzi clutches, and Meghan Markle recently made that quite clear when she broke down in tears because of a photo of her own mother taken by a photographer.
Reports indicate that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex‘s relationship with her mother, Doria Ragland, has always been very close.
According to Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, the pictures seem to have provoked a significant emotional response.
The photos showed Doria doing the most normal thing in the world — going to a laundromat to wash her clothes.
Doria’s picture hurt and troubled Meghan so much that it nearly pushed her to end her burgeoning relationship with Prince Harry.
Authors and reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand explained: “Meghan’s mother, Doria, was under constant siege. When a tabloid published a set of unflattering photos showing her on her way to the laundromat, pushing the narrative of a struggling woman in a rough part of LA, Meghan remained silent publicly. But behind the scenes, she was in tears. Worried, he might lose her, [Harry] frantically tried to protect her.”

Still, the bombshell book indicates that she did not want to go into extensive detail about what exactly it was about the picture that made her so tearful.
It is probably not hard to guess for those who have been following her life from a closer perspective. Meghan is very protective of her mother, and it was apparent why she thought of calling it quits with Harry — she feared for her mom’s safety and privacy.
Some royal fans say it would be interesting to see Meghan coming out with some additional stories about her mother and her childhood.
However, that is probably out of the question for now. She has generally been known for maintaining a significant air of privacy, even after getting together with Prince Harry.
Some of the former actress’s followers have even been complaining that she has toned down her public statements way too much after becoming involved with the royal family. Some have stated that they miss seeing her sweet Instagram posts, where she posted advice, recipes, and tips for caring about one’s mental health.
Of course, the situation is very different for Meghan now that she is in these circles, and it makes sense that she might not want to slip up and give the wrong impression.
