The bombshell book Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family has many fascinating revelations about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
According to the authors, the romance between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sparked with a full force from their very first meeting that was reportedly arranged by Misha Nonoo and Markus Anderson, close friends of the Suits actress.
The writers behind the biography, Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, say Prince Harry’s initial reaction was to “almost froze when he walked into the room and saw Meghan” as he was stunned by her beauty.
As for Meghan, she had only one thing in mind — she wanted to know “who the real Harry was.” The date allegedly lasted almost three hours, and even though Harry and Meghan did nothing but talk, they were both sure this could be the beginning of a new love.
Prince William‘s brother spoke about the first date saying: “I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her.” He continued, “I was like, I’m really going to have to up my game here.”
In addition, upon returning from the meeting, the prince sent a goodnight message to Meghan, who had already retreated to her hotel.
However, the unusual thing about Harry’s note was that he typed a ghost emoji to express his affection for Meghan, which she found to be “funny and adorable.”
Following their first date, the couple’s courtship lasted for around a year before tying the knot with a fairytale wedding ceremony that took place at Windsor Castle in May 2018.
The former actress briefly spoke about their love story, and she stated: “We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. I love a great love story.”
Since then, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex served as senior royals, but at the beginning of the year, they surprisingly announced they would be leaving their positions to seek financial independence from the monarchy.
They moved to Canada and then brought an estate in California. After signing a deal worth $150 million with Netflix, some say that they have become major players in the industry.
