As time goes by, it seems that it is getting harder for Prince William and Prince Harry to bridge the ever-growing gap between them.
Some details have leaked about the unveiling of Princess Diana‘s statue at Kensington Palace in the summer, and things are not looking up.
There is a possibility the tension between Prince Harry and Prince William has forced Queen Elizabeth II to remove herself from the event.
The brothers, who had not seen each other since Megxit, had briefly reunited at Prince Philip‘s funeral, where they made small talks about the sad event and the loss of their grandfather.
Despite Kate Middleton‘s efforts as the peacemaker of the royal family, Prince Harry returned to California with the feeling that he failed to reconcile with his brother.
It is claimed that Prince William is furious at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for taking part in the jaw-dropping interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The cold war between Prince Charles‘s sons continued with the series of leaks to the press via the Duke of Sussex‘s side.
Prince William and Prince Harry are scheduled to reunite again on July 1st, 2021, on what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.
Before the duo gets together to honor their late mother, they have started butting heads.
A royal insider told The Sun that Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and his brother have sparked concern about the event because they do not want to deliver a joint speech.
People around the humanitarian and future king fear that they “may not present a united front.”
A source went on to reveal: “The brothers will be physically together for the ceremony but want to make their own personal addresses. You might have thought they’d go for a joint statement and speech, but that’s not the case. Each has insisted on preparing their own.”
The person familiar with the situation added: “It is a big concern that their body language will suggest all is not well, and they won’t present a united front.”
Once more, Prince Harry will be facing his blood family alone because it has been confirmed that Meghan Markle will not travel to London for the ceremony put together in her late mother-in-law’s name.
After all, she does not want to be the center of attention and would prefer to have the spotlight on the brothers.
Another source said: “She feels this is William and Harry’s event and would not want to overshadow them.”
It has also been revealed that Queen Elizabeth II will not be in attendance as she continues to grieve the loss of her husband. There is a possibility that Kate Middleton could also skip the event.
Many royal experts have weighed in on Prince William and Prince Harry’s strained relationship by saying that they would not be surprised if he uses the birth of his daughter to cancel the trip after his frosty reception from the royal family during the funeral.
Radio host Kevin O’Sullivan shared: “I think he may have been a bit shocked by the cool reception he got from his family, which begs the question, will he come back for the unveiling of the Diana memorial with his brother in July? Or will he pull out of that?”
Russell Myers went on to add: ‘I’m told he is still committed to coming. Both camps are. Certainly, Kate and William will welcome him if he wants to come back. His intention is to come back. One may wonder, if his wife has just had a baby, I’m sure he could jump on a private jet and make a flying visit. But, will it be a convenient excuse, so he doesn’t have to come back and face the family?”
The statue designed by Ian Rank-Broadley will be erected in the Sunken Garden — which was Princess Diana’s favorite spot at the palace, and it has been turned into a garden.
