Nicole Kidman is known for her immense talent as an actress, and she puts a lot of effort into making sure that the focus does remain on her work instead of her private life.
However, in a recent interview, Kidman surprised many by opening up about her children. The Oscar winner sat down with the New York Times, where she made a few sweet comments about her oldest daughter, Bella Cruise.
Kidman and ex-husband Tom Cruise share daughter Bella, 27, and son Connor, 25.
For many years, Bella and her mother were estranged because she is part of the Church of Scientology. However, Kidman confirmed that all is well by revealing a little bit about Bella’s childhood.
She said that while filming Stanley Kubrick‘s Eyes Wide Shut, the family often ate spaghetti and added: “We shot that for two years. We had two kids and were living in a trailer on the lot primarily, making spaghetti because Stanley liked to eat with us sometimes.”
Kidman and Cruise relocated to London with their children for an extended period to make the iconic film. Bella and Connor both had an English accent.
Bella seems to have fallen in love with England because she has moved there with her husband, Max Parker.
Kidman confessed: “Bella lives just outside London. You know, she really feels more English. We lived here for Eyes Wides Shut, Mission Impossible, and The Portrait of a Lady. They both had English accents when they were little.”
A few weeks ago, Bella also confirmed that a reconciliation had taken place by making a simple move. She was spotted liking her mother’s Instagram pictures.
Bella hit the Like button on a photo where her mother is wearing a green dress and on another where she was showing off a pair of cowboy boots.
In the spring of 2019, Connor got married, and it was reported that Kidman could not attend because Cruise had banned her due to the fact that she is not a Scientologist.
Kidman was asked back then about her relationship with her adult children, and she told Australia’s Who Magazine: “They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. And I am an example of that tolerance, and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”
She explained: “I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”
Fans are happy that the healing between the mother and daughter has started, but are now wondering if Cruise is still in the picture.
