Sarah Fuller is closing one chapter of her life and is opening another. This week, the brilliant college student and phenomenal athlete broke many hearts after taking to Instagram, where she debuted her boyfriend in two beautiful pictures.
In the photos, Fuller, who is rocking a cute outfit, smiles as she gazes at her boyfriend, who has one hand wrapped around her.
Via the caption, she confirmed that she is dating the man in the photo but did not reveal his identity. Fuller wrote: “He dates football players.”
A heartbroken fan said this after learning that Fuller is no longer single: “Lowkey heartbroken now.” Another sad Instagrammer stated: “Welp this answers my question ??. Na, congratulations, he’s a lucky man.”
This backer opted to write this sweet note: “I’m so jealous of this, Sarah! You too look extremely cute and adorable together! Hahahaha! ???! ❤??! Keep up the good work buddy!”
After making history twice over the last month, it seems that Fuller might be hanging up her football kit for good next year.
The 21-year old goalkeeper played for the Vanderbilt Commodores while at university and made history when she became the first woman to play in a Power Five football game.
Fuller was asked to step in after COVID-19 outbreaks meant that many of the players could not take part in the game against Missouri on November 28 — a moment which turned out to be a historic one for the young athlete.
Following her success as the first woman to play in one of the elite Power Five teams, Sarah Fuller gained high praise yet again when she achieved another first — by scoring a goal against Tennessee on December 12.
Her successes followed a string of unfortunate injuries at the start of her college education, including back injuries and a broken foot, which had prevented her from playing football.
In a statement which Fuller posted to her Twitter account, she told her 71,000-strong following that the opportunity to play for Vanderbilt had been “amazing,” and wished all her teammates, coaches, and staff the best of luck as they “continue to grow” in the future.
Fuller wrote: “It looks like my time as a football player has come to an end. I would like to thank personally the entire Vanderbilt football team, coaches, and support staff for this fantastic opportunity to be a part of this program.”
Fuller added: “I was accepted as an athlete and a true member of this team. This is an experience that I will never forget and will cherish forever. Good luck to the seniors and staff who are moving on to new adventures. Best wishes to the team as this program moves forward and continues to grow.”
Fuller will be moving on to North Texas university next year and has said she is still open to the idea of playing football again if the opportunity arises.
During her time at Vanderbilt, Fuller has attracted global attention following her historic games against Missouri and Tennessee, with athletic superstars like LeBron James taking the time to offer high praise to the college student.
She also impressed coaches and her new fan base when she gave teammates a motivational speech in the game against Missouri, even though Vanderbilt eventually lost the game.
Observers believe that she has great things lined up.
