Jessica Simpson‘s fans were thrilled to see a Christmas Day picture on Instagram, which showed her 100-pound weight loss in a red and white festive onesie.
The fashion designer shocked followers in October when she posted a picture of herself in a warrior yoga pose by the pool, wearing leggings and a black sports bra, which showed off her toned physique.
She revealed she had lost 100 pounds since last year following her daughter, Birdie‘s birth in March 2019.
Simpson, 40, has attracted more than a quarter of a million likes so far with her Christmas picture.
The photo showed a pair of red pants falling around her knees over the onesie as she claimed she thought her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson, was taking a snap of her top half only.
The former singer turned fashion/beauty mogul captioned the photo: “So I thought Eric was taking a photo from the waist up…”
A fan called out Jessica Simpson for deceiving them with the photo: “Hey, take a pic of me with my pants down so I can post claiming I thought you were taking from the waist up.”
This follower chimed: “True could have easily cropped out pants if that was the case.”
Many backers complimented her on her stunning body and weight loss, while others said she is now too skinny. A critic wrote: “Too skinny! Looking good!”
This social media user defended her with this comment: “No, she’s not. Imagine this type of comment for any other body type. So rude, and you’re too opinionated. ?”
Commenting on her fitness routine over the last couple of years, Simpson’s personal trainer Harley Pasternak said that regular walking and full-body workouts were key to her weight loss success.
Jessica Simpson started walking 6000 steps a day and gradually increased to 14,000.
Pasternak explained: “We slowly ramped those up; we started really easy and slowly increased them. We started with doing a full-body workout, one set of each exercise, not really doing too much intensity per body part and gradually increasing the volume and intensity. Focusing on a few muscle groups per day. Different muscles each day of the week.”
She also gradually increased the intensity of her workouts and focused on working for different muscle groups throughout the week.
Pasternak also said that Simpson has a good attitude towards her new lifestyle — which is crucial to sustainable weight loss.
Simpson shared previously that her husband and three children — Birdie, Maxwell Drew, and Ace Knute — play a big role in keeping her active.
She commented that she runs around after her children, and as a former athlete, her husband is always staying active too.
Along with her loving fans, celebrities joined in with positive comments on Instagram, where Simpson has more than five and a half million followers.
They included actress Jessica Alba who told Simpson she looked “so fit.”
