Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is suspending his campaign for president. However, he is still not ending his political endeavors.
The anti-vaccine activist is endorsing former President Donald Trump and urging his supporters to vote for the Republican in the so-called swing states.
Earlier today, he said during a press conference in Phoenix, Arizona: “In about 10 battleground states where my presence would be a spoiler, I’m going to remove my name, and I’ve already started the process.”
However, his backers can still vote for him in blue and red states across the country. This is the latest development in a wild venture that started months ago with a Democratic primary challenge to President Joe Biden.
With Biden out of the race, left-leaning voters coalesced around the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris. Mr. Kennedy became less relevant, and his campaign has been on life support in recent weeks.
The suspension of Kennedy will likely give Mr. Trump a temporary boost in the polls when he really needs it. In a few short weeks, Ms Harris has become the candidate with the momentum.
After tough negotiations and promising a possible cabinet role in a Trump administration, the billionaire hopes to shake the race with this endorsement.
However, behind the politics and the theater, a family and personal drama is unfolding. The Kennedy clan is staying true to the family’s legacy by endorsing Harris for president.
As soon RFK Jr. made his alliance with Trump official, his siblings put out a brutal statement disavowing his political choices.
It read: “We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise, and national pride. We believe in Harris and Walz. Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story.”

There is more: the wife of the environmental lawyer Cheryl Hines said in January that his joining forces with Trump would be a deal-breaker for her.
At the Season 12 premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm in Los Angeles, Mr. Kennedy himself told Variety‘s Marc Malkin: “I don’t think that my marriage would survive it.”
He was responding to rumors that he would become Trump’s running mate. Hines added, “I think he’s right.”
According to reports, Hines is still against the alliance with Trump. However, it is unclear if it is just public posturing to protect her acting career in notoriously liberal Hollywood.
However, what is clear is that by endorsing Trump, Kennedy is disavowing himself and his spouse.
