Barack Obama has continued his tradition of releasing an annual playlist of his favorite songs from the last year, and 2020 was a particularly spicy one.
The list featured various prominent hits by Megan Thee Stallion, H.E.R., and others and quickly gained popularity on social media.
However, it seems like the former president has been enjoying a little assistance in his efforts to release the ultimate music playlist, as reports indicate that his daughter, Sasha Obama, has been quite involved in creating the last one.
As Obama put it, in an Instagram post, he received “valuable consultation” from Sasha, age 19, which allowed him to put together a list that he was quite happy with.
The retired politician, who is set to attend Joe Biden‘s inauguration, had this to say about the list: “Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to.”
He was also hopeful that people would discover new tracks that they themselves enjoyed in the long list of hits.
Other songs featured on the list include Bruce Springsteen‘s “Ghosts,” as well as “Levitating” by Dua Lipa and DaBaby.
The former president has shown quite the aptitude for social media since he left the White House, which some have pointed out as somewhat ironic in light of recent developments around President Donald Trump and his own social media accounts.
Obama has been active on various networks and seems to have a good thing going with many of his followers, enjoying some solid engagement all around.
Many of Obama’s fans have expressed their hopes that he would continue the tradition in 2021 and beyond, helping them discover even more cool music from different performers.
