Dr. Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend, Cerissa Riley, allegedly decided to use their good looks and charm to lure multiple women back into their home to rape or sexually assault them.
Robicheaux, a well-known California surgeon, who appeared on Online Dating Rituals of the American Male along with Riley, allegedly traveled all over the country seeking potential victims.
For several years, the couple would go to bars and restaurants and attended popular festivals like Burning Man and the Dirtybird Campout where they would lure women with drugs and alcohol, allegedly.
Once the females were high and heavily intoxicated, the orthopedic surgeon and his girlfriend would allegedly bring them to their home and have their way with them.
The suspected criminals filmed all of the non-consensual sexual acts.
Police in Orange County discovered a large number of disturbing videos showing Robicheaux, 38, and Riley, 31, sexually assaulting unidentified victims.
The case caught a break after a woman whose identity has not been revealed reached out to the police and explained that she received a large number of illegal substances from the pair.
The woman also said that she was raped. When the police raided Robicheaux’s home, they found illegal drugs, anesthesia, and videos on his phone of the women he allegedly abused.
Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas had this to say about the case: “Well, we have all heard of a wolf dressed up in sheep’s clothing. Well, a wolf can wear scrubs… or a wolf can also be a beautiful woman.”
Rackauckas was asked about the number of victims during the press conference, and he responded by: “There are thousands and thousands of videos and images on Robicheaux’s phone.”
He added there could be several unidentified victims based on some of those videos found by the investigators.
Rackauckas said: “The many women in the videos appear to be highly intoxicated beyond the ability to consent or resist. And they’re barely responsive to the defendant’s sexual advances.”
Robicheaux has been slapped with a long list of charges including rape by use of drugs, oral copulation by anesthesia or controlled substance, and assault with intent to commit sexual offenses.
He has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of an assault weapon.
Riley has been hit with the same charges minus possession of an assault weapon.
After posting a $100,000 bond both Robicheaux and Riley have been released and are set to appear in court on October 25.
It has been confirmed Robicheaux’s medical license is under review by the medical board of California. Robicheaux’s attorney has denied the allegations.
Meanwhile, the NewportCare Medical Group has taken measures to no longer be associated with the surgeon.
