It seems Queen Elizabeth II‘s big celebratory year is off to a highly complex start, with her son, Andrew, getting stripped of all his titles and now Prince Harry getting ready to sue the British government.
In a lengthy statement issued to the media, Prince Harry explained the reason why he is going after the Home Office for refusing to let him personally pay the British police to protect him, his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children — Archie and Lilibet Diana — when in the UK.
Prince Harry’s team was forced to make the information public after it was leaked to the media that he took legal action in the fall of 2021 to challenge the UK government over the decision.
The legal spokesperson revealed Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex wants to bring his entire family to London, but he feels it is not safe to do so because the security team he has hired to protect his family in the United States cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed while in the UK.
In the statement, the legal team also revealed an incident involving Prince Harry that took place in London in the summer of 2021.
Prince Harry’s security was compromised as he left a charity event, as his car was being chased, according to the statement.
The Duke of Sussex slammed the government’s decision for creating a dangerous situation for himself and his family that makes it impossible for them “to return to his home.”
The statement read in part: “Prince Harry inherited a security risk at birth, for life. He remains sixth in line to the throne, served two tours of combat duty in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has been subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats.”
It went on to say: “The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in. With the lack of police protection comes too great a personal risk.”
Many bashed Prince Harry’s announcement that he is seeking a judicial review against a Home Office.
Piers Morgan, who has spent the last couple of years attacking Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, was quick to share his thoughts on the high-profile lawsuit against the British government.
The flamboyant and outspoken media personality did not hold back and labeled Prince Harry shameless and a hypocrite for bringing another devastating and complicated issue for Queen Elizabeth to deal with as she gets ready to mark her Platinum Jubilee year in 2022.
The regular critic of the Sussex couple wrote in The Sun: “There are now three cast-iron certainties in life: death, taxes, and Prince Harry behaving like a shameless, deluded, woefully entitled hypocrite. There was a wearisome inevitability that just when the Queen least needed her renegade royal grandson to pipe up whining again from his Californian mansion, he would do exactly that.”
He added: “The petulant prince is threatening legal action—is there ever a time when he isn’t?—unless the Home Office caves and restores the royal security he enjoyed before his dramatic flounce to America.”
Morgan went on to say: “If he goes through with his threat, it will be the first time any royal has ever sued Her Majesty’s Government, and, of course, causes the Queen yet another massive headache at the worst possible time.”
Some observers say it is hard to comprehend Prince Harry’s latest maneuver.
