There is indeed a new Sovereign in the U.K., and King Charles III is playing by his own rules.
The King of England is quick and decisive when putting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their places.
This week, he took concrete and public actions to remind his California-based son and daughter-in-law that they are not essential royals after their dramatic decision to step down from their duties.
Before the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth II ended, King Charles humiliated Prince Harry and Markle. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were officially demoted on the Royal Family’s website.
Buckingham Palace decided to push the photos and profiles of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex down to the bottom of the page.
Markle and her husband were listed above Anne, Princess Royal when The Queen was alive.
This weekend, King Charles had the power couple relocated to the bottom of the line right above disgraced Prince Andrew, who was embroiled in an embarrassing and costly sex scandal.
When asked about the demotion of the former actress and soldier, a royal source close to The Palace said there was “no significance” to the relocation of the couple’s photos.
The move from King Charles aligns with the recent revelations made to The Daily Beast explaining that King Charles wants to chip away at Prince Harry and Markle’s importance.
King Charles has put in place a pitiless and explicit playbook to reduce Pince Harry and Markle to minor, non-relevant, and non-working royals.
A source close to King Charles told the media outlet: “One reasonable interpretation of Harry’s treatment in the days after the Queen’s death and at her funeral is that it was part of a strategy of chipping away at Harry’s importance, of reframing him in the public eye from being, “Prince Harry, sixth in line to the throne” to “Prince Harry, minor, a non-working royal who lives overseas.”
The publication went on to explain that King Charles will not let Prince Harry and Markle blur the lines with mini royal tours and charity events.
The Daily Beast shared: “If Harry and Meghan had sought to blur the lines, via charitable commitments, between their present identity as private citizens and their former identity as royals, the last two weeks offered the Palace an unprecedented opportunity to render them again in sharp relief. The most explicit illustration of this was in the seating arrangements at the Queen’s funeral, which, humiliatingly, denied Harry a front-row seat in favor of his cousins Peter and Zara Philips.”
The new Monarch is very effective in his approach.
