In her Netflix documentary, Meghan Markle spoke about the almost strict and colorless dress code she had to abide by to avoid irking the British royal family.
Reports have claimed that Markle and other royal women must have their hair down and wear little makeup because that is how Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III wanted things.
After Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties, they relocated to California, and she no longer had to respect the rules and could dress how she desired.
If the former actress decides to attend King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort‘s coronation ceremony, she will be very noticeable in a terrible way.
For the crowing ceremony, the protocol demands that the Royal Family wear special robes or a coronet (a small crown designed for the occasion).
King Charles, who wants to emphasize the continuation of the monarchy, will have Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — wearing special attire at the crowning.
However, Markle and Prince Harry will stick out like sore thumbs at the event because they are not expected to receive ceremonial garments from King Charles, who is fuming over “Megxit,” Spare, the Netflix series, and countless incendiary interviews.
According to a royal author, King Charles will use the public setting to remind the world that Prince Harry and Markle are not as important as Prince William and his family.
Royal historian Dr. Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror: “In 1953, the Queen‘s sister Princess Margaret had her own coronation gown designed by Norman Hartnell, embroidered with roses and daisies and offset with a stunning Cartier tiara. She traveled to the Abbey with the Queen Mother, and they sat in a box overlooking proceedings with a four-year-old Prince Charles squashed between them.”
She added: “A similar scenario for the Princess of Wales and her three children is likely – William and his offspring are next in line to the throne, and coronations deliberately emphasize the order of precedence and succession. Like it or not, this state occasion is all about royal hierarchy. Visual messaging through both costume and carriage will remind us who the future King and Queen are (whether the Sussexes like it or not!).”
She went on to explain that it will be a humiliating two hours for Prince Harry and Markle if they attend the ceremony and added: “With the exception of Prince William, at this Coronation, peers of the realm will not be paying homage to the new King, so it is unlikely that Harry will have to go down on bended knee. Likewise, if Meghan attends, any Coronation finery will be entirely her own. Expect very few to stand on ceremony for the Duchess of Sussex.”
Prince Harry and Markle are indecisive about the event, and many royal observers believe that only one will travel to London, while the other will stay home for Archie‘s birthday.
