The guessing game about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s decision to attend King Charles III‘s coronation is finally over.
For several weeks now, the media has been on high alert as it awaits an announcement from Prince Harry and his wife, Markle, about this year’s event.
There have been many contradictory leaks from Montecito and London via royal sources. Some claimed that King Charles wanted his son and daughter-in-law and his grandchildren — Archie and Lilibet — at the crowning ceremony.
Others, who claim they are close friends of King Charles, say he hopes they will take a hint and skip the event after causing much pain to the Royal Family and the monarchy.
Reports also stated that King Charles had not invited Archie and Lilibet to the event. However, at the same time, King Charles is said to be eager to spend time with his American/British grandchildren.
The stories that emerged from California say that Prince Harry is negotiating with his father to find compromises so he can fly to London.
It has been widely speculated that Meghan Markle is upset about the snubs (she has no role at the coronation and has been banned from appearing on Buckingham Balcony) and might not attend.
Over the weekend, a piece of exciting information surfaced that might put an end to all the speculations.
It seems that Prince Harry has made the interesting move to clear up his schedule for May 5, 6, and 7 — which indicates that he will be at the coronation.
King Charles and Camilla, Queen Consort‘s coronation is set for May 6 — the same day as Archie’s birthday.
Prince Harry, an avid polo player, was supposed to take part in a tournament at the Santa Barbara polo club in California the days before and after King Charles’s grandiose event.
Prince Harry, who plays for Los Padres, has declined to say if he will be joining his three teammates for the tournament.
Club officials spoke to The Mirror to reveal: “The club has received no word yet on Harry’s plans for the tournament. But he’s expected to play again this season. The speculation is that Harry will be returning for the coronation, so probably won’t be taking part in the polo that weekend.”
Prince William has already revealed to the world that Prince Harry will attend the coronation alone.
Andrew Lownie, a royal author and expert, agrees that Prince Harry will make a solo appearance and explains why.
He said: “I suspect he will come without her – that is what tends to happen with the Duke of Windsor – which will make it easier and may be part of the process of weaning him back within the fold.”
Moreover, others predict that Markle will not let her husband face his family alone and will be at the coronation in the role of the loving and supportive wife.
